Stainless steel production increased in most countries during 2014
Turkey’s bureau of statistics data show that in the first half of the Turkish import 189193 tons of stainless steel coil, rose 9%, due to the increasing demand in the first quarter and early in the second quarter.
Imports of 25932 tons, in June was 3% increase over the same period last year.
Most of the stainless steel imported from the far east, Turkey, because its price is lower than the European steel mills. With 41570 tons from China and imported from South Korea, 27869 tons, 24401 tons of imported from Germany.
According to the data provided by the Turkish statistics institute shows that in June, Turkey import 2884 tons of stainless steel long products, fell 12%, declined by 0.4% over the previous year, imports amounted to $11.8 million, fell 7%, fell 5.5% year on year.
At the same time, in the first half of this year, Turkish import 18055 tons of stainless steel long products, rose 3.1%. In June, Turkey imported stainless steel long products of India of 1658 tons, 4.7% increase over last year.
